Site Creator: This site was built by Eric Dewhirst and the content found within comes from an assortment of resources online and from some great YouTube creators that have taken the time to help educate people like myself and others around the world. In my regular day job I am the co-founder and CTO at Txtify Technologies. Kubernetes is the backbone to our back end systems at Txtify and it has allowed us to scale our services while providing fantastic reliability.
Goal of this Site: This site was built to help you learn Kubernetes by providing you with practical information and step by step instructions. Kubernetes can be daunting at first, the goal of this site is make it more accessible and practical.
Backstory: When I started on the journey of learning Kubernetes and trying to understand all of the moving parts, I was excited by the promise of it all, but I found it to be a very steep learning curve. I found that whenever I looked into deploying a solution each step was a challenge and the information I found online was either out of date or did not exactly apply to my use case. What I wish I could find were clear instructions and sample YAML files that I could deploy and get something going.
Intended Audience: This site is geared toward someone just starting out and does not have a lot of experience with containers, Docker, and DevOps in general. If you are starting out in your journey and want to get something up and running so you can feel like you accomplished something and then can build upon that success then you are in the right place.
NOTE: Most of the context and examples within the KubeSchool-Master-Repo are geared toward using Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS). They may work with others, but they are not tested.
